Missing the podium closely with fourth place

With a good result Pierre Ehret returned from the season start of the Le Mans Series at Barcelona. Together with his teammates Pierre Kaffer and Anthony Beltoise, Ehret placed fourth in the Gt 2 category with his Ferrari F430 GTC just missing the podium .

"We are happy with 4th place ", Ehret stated. "The result is totally OK, given the placements we had in the test and qualifying sessions."

The whole weekend we had to deal with an under- and oversteering condition on the Circuit de Catalunya. Although one got the problems more and more under control., the setup was not perfect at all.

The 450 PS strong Ferrari, which was prepared by Farnbacher Racing in GT2 category, on the other hand worked properly. "Posrche was strong and if we clear up the problems with the tires, we will be very competitive!"

As expected the beginning was difficult for Ehret, who had never driven on the 4.6 kilometres long track near Barcelona: "It was not easy, because here are many fast corners, where you have to find the right line at first..." But Ehret managed better and better during the race.

Ex-DTM-driver Pierre Kaffer was the first driver, starting from rank five. Afterwards he handed over the car to Ehret, who later on switched to Beltoise, then Ehret drove the last stint again. When driving at the maximum limit we were able to keep the pace of the Porsche, which makes us optimistic for the next races."

The 2nd round of the Le Mans Series will take place on 25th to 27th April on the italian highspeed track of Monza.
