22 year old racing driver, Daniel Brown is getting ready for the second round of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) as the championship moves to the legendary circuit, Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, Italy. Brown will be driving for the UK based team Gulf Racing in their Aston Martin Vantage GTE and continuing his partnership with the 2013 GTE-AM world champion Stuart Hall and the experienced gentleman driver Roald Goethe for the 4 hour endurance race.

The first round at Silverstone in April saw the trio score a solid top ten finish to start their campaign and they will be looking to build upon this in Imola with an aim of finishing in the top five. Brown commented "Silverstone went to plan with us finishing the race and not encountering any major dramas", he further added "Since that first round, the guys at Gulf Racing have been working hard to fine tune the Aston Martin and progress with changes to the set up that will help to see us challenging right at the sharp end".

This will be Brown's first ever visit to the Imola circuit, however he does not feel intimidated by the challenge ahead, "In the modern era of racing, the possibility to learn new circuits has been hugely aided by the use of simulators. I have been lucky enough to spend some time in the highly-advanced simulator based at Gulf Racing's workshop, so I feel prepared and happy with the direction of the circuit before I have even arrived there".

For some background information on the ELMS, the championship features three classes; the extremely fast LMP2 Le Mans prototypes, the highly modified GT cars in the GTE class and the closer to production specification GT3 class. Brown will battling for the honours in the GTE class against 14 other cars, primarily made up of Ferrari 458's and Porsche 911's. Being the only Aston Martin in this class, and in the famous Gulf Oil colours, they are sure to draw a lot of attention and be one of the fan favourites.

The first practice session starts at 10:15 CET on Saturday followed by a second practice session in the afternoon at 15:45 CET. Qualifying takes place on the Sunday moming and the 4 hour race begins at 14:00 CET, with complete coverage being shown live on Motors TV (Sky channel 447, Virgin Media channel 545 or Freeview channel 240).
