For his second race with NewBlood by Morand Racing, Pierre Ragues will be competing on home turf on September 14 with his team mates Christian Klien and Gary Hirsch at the Paul Ricard circuit, for the penultimate round of the 2014 European Le Mans Series (ELMS).

Located in southern France, the Paul Ricard is the circuit where NewBlood by Morand Racing scored their best result to date, finishing second in the last event of the 2013 ELMS.

The Austrian Christian Klien was already at the wheel at that time and this year he will compete in the 4 Hours of the Paul Ricard with the French Pierre Ragues and the Swiss Gary Hirsch with their #43 Morgan-Judd BMW with Dunlop tyres. They teamed up for the first time last July in the previous ELMS event at the Red Bull Ring, Klien’s home race.

Despite a few glitches, they finished fifth and kept the pace of the winners all race long. As they did at Silverstone (Great Britain), Imola (Italy) and the Red Bull Ring (Austria), NewBlood by Morand Racing is ready to battle for the top positions with their faithful partners Dunlop, Motorex, InCor Holdings and Jeff.

Benoit Morand (team owner): “For the first time last year at the Paul Ricard we were in contention for the overall victory. I remember an outstanding drive by our drivers Christian Klien and Natacha Gachnang. Since then, I think that we have always battled for the top positions. Now we have a final step to achieve: winning a race. The whole team is aware of that goal and we are going to work harder than ever for that. We know that our car is performing very well, especially on the Paul Ricard circuit.”

Pierre Ragues: “The Paul Ricard race will be very important for the NewBlood by Morand Racing team, who is very eager to confirm their potential. Since they compete in the European Le Mans Series, Benoit and his team rapidly became major contenders for victory. We have a good driving line-up and the crew perfectly handles the car. I know the Paul Ricard circuit quite well and I like it. The Morgan-Judd BMW-Dunlop package has a great potential there and generally speaking the Morgan chassis enjoys a good max speed, so I am very confident.”
