The 1000 km of the Nurburgring are one of the 2007 season highlights. Included in the series' calendar since the beginning, this round is a must for the teams but also for the series' fans.
This year is special since the German round will be run two weeks after the 24 Hours of Le Mans only. The stakes will be high for the Series teams who will have participated in the unique endurance race. Actually, 37 out of the 55 cars racing in the 24 Hours are entered in the Le Mans Series for the whole season!
Thus, the 1000 km of the Nurburgring will have a different meaning for each team, according to their success on the French circuit. Some will have to take their revenge whilst the others will endeavour to confirm their results. And who knows, maybe will we see the manufacturer duel go on along the German circuit, with among others Pescarolo as another challenger? Actually, the French team has won the "Michelin Energy Endurance Challenge" for the two first rounds of the Le Mans Series.
Some teams enrolled for the season will have at the Nurburgring the opportunity to throw themselves in the core of the competition after a hectic start. Thus, Creation, which came second last year, will make its debuts in the 2007 Le Mans Series at the Nurburgring with the Art car raced in the 24 Hours. Some other such as Arena, Swiss Spirit, Del Bello or T2M could not attend the first round in Monza whilst in Valencia Danish team Markland and Italian Giovanni Lavaggi's proto were missing.
To all of them we wish all the best for the 75 th 24 Hours of Le Mans and look forward to welcoming them in Germany on 29/30 June and 1 st of July.
