Test at Paul Ricard productive
The QUIFEL-ASM Team achieved the third best time in tests at the Paul Ricard circuit, in the MP2 class, held Sunday (2nd March) and yesterday. This test was preparation for the Le Mans Series 2008.
The fastest time by the Portuguese team's Lola B05/40 was driven by Olivier Pla, who did the lap in 1 minute 44 seconds and 456 thousandths. Miguel Pais do Amaral drove long sets of laps at a constant pace. Guy Smith also performed well, adapting well to the team.
The tests were deemed satisfactory by those responsible for the Quifel-ASM team, and no significant mechanical problems occurred. As it was not possible to test the new aerodynamic device, the team focused on mechanical down force, by tuning the suspension, weight distribution and the height from the ground.
Over the two days the team also tested new rubber composite on Dunlop tyres for the 2008 season. The drivers also used the occasion to drive at night and become accustomed to artificial light in order to prepare for the Le Mans event.
