Motorsport.com has learned that the Race Performance team is highly unlikely to race in the ELMS this season. It comes after it failed to appear on the ELMS season entry list which was unveiled last Thursday in Paris.

The Michel Frey owned team has competed in the last three ELMS seasons, as well as at five Le Mans 24 Hours. Their best result came at Silverstone in April last year when Frey and Franck Mailleux finished second.

Race Performance ran a Judd powered Oreca 03 last season. While Frey looks set to temporarily hang up his helmet, his team mate from 2014 - Franck Mailleux was recently announced as part of the ambitious Glickenhaus GT project.

Funding did not materialise

Motorsport.com understands that team owner Michel Frey is not prepared to finance a season of racing in 2015 after he was left disappointed when several potential commercial deals - via drivers - failed to materialise. The 41 year-old Swiss is instead focusing on a possible comeback in 2016 with a new Oreca 05 LMP2 coupe to race in the ELMS.

Race Performance owner – Michel Frey was unavailable for comment this week but a source within the team confirmed to us that prospects were not good for any International endurance racing this season. Engine supplier Judd has been told that its trackside support services will not be needed in 2015 for the team.
