Silverstone: Team Nasamax race report

Green Fuel Nasamax Judd in Fifth Place at Silverstone 1000KM Race - Best Result To Date

To the enormous delight of the crew and its 100 VIP guests, some of whom had flown in from Canada to watch the race, Robbie Stirling crossed the line in fifth position at the Silverstone round of the Le Mans Endurance Series.

The Nasamax Judd V10 completed 185 laps, with the winning Audi of McNish and Kaffer 13 laps ahead. However, the Nasamax Judd is a chassis built to the new 2004 regulations which have less downforce. Silverstone is known as a 'downforce circuit', needed to drive fast around the many corners of this challenging circuit. The Nasamax Judd was consistently the fastest car through the speed traps and looked might impressive out on the track.

Technical Director John McNeil was pleased with the result, 'the fifth place is the result of incredible hard work of the team, faultless preparation of the car and the continuing support of our technology partners Astek and O2Empower. We're now looking forward to Spa.'

Robbie Stirling brought the car back to parc fermé to applause from the sea of green shirted guests and crew. 'I am overjoyed with the result,' he grinned. "It's what the team deserve, they have worked so hard. Crossing the line and seeing them there on the pitwall was a great feeling.'

During the race, the team received great coverage from the circuit TV, Motors TV on satellite, and the official LMES film crew.

The team's next race is at Spa, Belgium on 11 September.
