Spectacular international 12 hours race for Touring and GT cars Friday 26th and Saturday 27th September 2008 F1 circuit Hungaroring near Budapest

Entry for 12H Hungary 2008 still possible

It is still possible to enter the 12H Hungary on the 27th of September and the 24H Valencia on the 11th and 12th of October 2008. Both races are part of the TOYO TIRES 24H Series 2008. This Series has started with the famous TOYO TIRES 24H Dubai in January 2008 with a full start grid of 90 cars and teams from 37 different countries.

Due to the busy calendars we notice that many teams and drivers plan from one race to the next. With only 5 weeks to go we like to welcome Italian Team Promospeed, team Jetalliance from Austria, team MPR-GT-Racing from Germany and JR Motorsport from Holland.

Many different cars compete in the TOYO TIRES 24H Series: Porsche GT3, BMW M3, BMW Z4, Audi R8, Brokernet, Renault Megane Trophy, Seat Leon Supercopa, Honda Civic and Solution F silhouette car. International top teams and top drivers from Belgium, The Netherlands, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Denmark, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, and Sweden are taking part.

F1 Circuit Hungaroring: attractive and exhausting

The pit boxes and paddock area of the Hungaroring were recently undergoing major renovations. All activities were finalized a few weeks ago before the Formula 1 in the weekend of 2-3 August. After the renovations the total number of pit boxes is 54 and more toilet and shower facilities have been added as well. Racing Systems has offered full support for the event and it looks like the 12 hour race will be an event not to miss!

The Hungaroring is situated in a beautiful valley approximately 40 minutes to the east of Budapest, along the M3 highway. The roads to the track are well signposted. The track offers ample parking facilities for teams and spectators and from the roof of the pit boxes spectators will have a nice view of the track.

Teams can request private pit boxes (just one car per box) at extra costs, but this service is offered to a limited number of teams only. First come, first serve. It is also possible to book a private VIP package with tailor-made catering arrangements. Please send your requests to info@creventic.com

The weather in September should be pleasant, with daytime temperatures in the mid 20’s and plenty of sunshine.

During the visits to Budapest Creventic also spoke to Mr Istvan Gaspar, chairman of the local ASN, who has also expressed his full support for the event.

For those teams who are looking for a comfortable hotel close to the track Creventic can offer rooms in a new 4 star hotel in the town of Goedoello, only 10 minutes to the east of the Hungaroring, thus avoiding the busy rush-hour traffic in Budapest. Please send your requests to travel@creventic.com

Updated Audi CR-8 will start in 12H Hungary

Since its first debut and shakedown during the TOYO TIRES 24H Dubai in January 2008, many modifications have been made to the Audi CR-8.

Currently the last pieces of carbon bodywork are being designed and fitted, bringing the weight of the car down to the required minimum of 1250 KG. The original gearbox has been replaced by a 6-speed Holinger sequential gearbox and engine cooling has improved due to the new and larger centrally placed high efficiency radiator with ducts, which has replaced the two original radiators. Another advantage of this new radiator is that it is now more reliable and less vulnerable. The electronics have been modified as well, resulting in a new lightweight carbon AIM dashboard which has replaced the original heavier dashboard. All these changes should make the Audi CR-8 just as fast as a Porsche GT3-cup.

During the 12H Hungary on 27 September 2008 the Audi CR-8 will be driven by WTCC and Porsche Supercup driver Jaap van Lagen, together with Ivo Breukers and possibly endurance specialist Cor Euser. During the race they will test the car to the maximum. Creventic has been approached by several drivers and teams over the past months regarding the Audi CR-8. Some of them are interested in driving the CR-8 during the 4th edition of the TOYO TIRES 24H Dubai in January 2009, with the option of buying the car after the race. This means that it is very well possible that this race will see two of these magnificent Audi CR-8 at the start!

Free entrance Grand Stand

12H Hungary 2008 will start on Friday 26th September with two regularity tests for classic cars on the track. The preparations for the 12 hour race will start on Friday afternoon with a free practice, qualification and in the evening a free night practice. The Saturday starts with a warming up, a track parade and at 10 AM the start of the 12H Hungary 2008. During the day visitors can enjoy a classic car show. The race will finish at 10 PM and the podium ceremony will close the day.

Spectators are welcome this weekend and have free entrance on the Grand Stand. Entrance for the paddock will be 3500HUF per day or 5500HUF for two days (Friday and Saturday). There will be an open atmosphere on the paddock, the spectators have the possibility to come very close to the teams. On the paddock there will be a variety of activities like car shows, merchandising, bouncing castle for the children, music and firework.

You can order your tickets for the 12H Hungary for one day or for two days on our website.
