Following a successful year in 2014, which ended with a victory and a podium at the Gulf 12 Hours in December, Team Black Falcon wants to start the 2015 season with a bang as it prepares to fight for the win in the Dubai 24 Hours.

Scheduled from January 8 to January 10, the race will take place on the Dubai Autodrome and will feature more than 90 racecars in a variety of car classes.

Black Falcon will tackle the event with its two Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 in the very busy A6 class, relying on a strong line-up consisting of eight drivers.

Bernd Schneider, Jeroen Bleekemolen and Khaled Al Qubaisi return behind the wheel of the Abu Dhabi Racing Black Falcon after securing the runner-up spot in the Gulf 12 Hours. Joined by the fast Andreas Simonsen, the four drivers are, as ever, in it to win it.

The sister Black Falcon Mercedes will also feature four drivers, including Abdulaziz Turki AlFaisal and Hubert Haupt - who both drove the car to a class victory in Abu Dhabi - in addition to Yelmer Buurman and Oliver Webb, the latter who joins the team having won the 2014 European Le Mans Series. Similar to their Abu Dhabi Racing Black Falcon teammates, the quartet wants to finish on the top step of the podium.

One of the toughest

Dubai 24 Hours is one of the toughest races on the calendar, as Sean Paul Breslin, Black Falcon team principal points out: “The Dubai 24 Hours race is unique because it features a fast and fun GP track but with a lot of traffic. This represents a great challenge for the drivers to stay alert and out of any trouble. The competition here gets tougher every year and there are numerous teams capable of winning. However we know we have two very strong packages and there is only ever one aim!”

The Dubai 24 Hours action begins on Thursday, January 8 with two free practice sessions and three qualifying sessions, followed by a night practice session. A half hour warm-up session kick-starts Friday’s proceedings, before the race starts at 14:00 sharp. Cars will cross the Dubai Autodrome finish line 24 hours later on Saturday.
