The covers have come off the two factory-backed Nissan GT-Rs ahead of this week’s Bathurst 12 Hour, with Nissan Genuine Oils backing a new-look #24 entry.

The carmaker will back two cars at the Bathurst 12 Hour for the first time, with a brand new GT-R, to be raced by Katsumasa Chiyo, Alex Buncombe, and Michael Caruso, set to carry the classic Nissan NISMO branding.

The #24 car, to be raced by Todd Kelly, Jann Mardenborough, and former 12 Hour winner Florian Strauss, will take a slightly different look into the Bathurst race, with backing from Nissan Genuine Oils as part of a partnership with oil giants Total.

“Total has developed a modern, technically advanced lubricant range that meets the specific Nissan requirements across the model range to ensure our Nissan owners have complete confidence in the performance of our vehicles,” said Ian Moreillon, Customer Experience and Franchise Quality, Nissan Motor Company Australia

“We are extremely proud to present the Nissan Genuine Oil, designed by Total, GT-R NISMO GT3 at the 2017 Bathurst 12 hour.

“The car will be driven by three highly-experienced drivers who we know will represent the team and Nissan Genuine Oils at the highest level.”

The #23 entry was shaken down at Winton last week, which will be the new car's only outing before the event itself.

Nissan enjoys a solid record at Mount Panorama, having won the 12 Hour in 2015 with Chiyo, Strauss, and Wolfgang Reip, before finishing second last year with Chiyo, Strauss, and Rick Kelly.
