Creventic extends its portfolio of endurance races

Budapest, Barcelona, Dubai

GENNEP (February 25th, 2011) Dutch agency CREVENTIC, promoters of the Dunlop 24H of Dubai that had its very successful sixth running earlier this year, keeps extending its portfolio of endurance races. It has teamed up with the RACC Automovil Club to promote the 24-hour race at the Circuit de Catalunya in Montmelo near Barcelona. This year's edition of the 24H of Barcelona, already well-known, will be held on September 23rd till 25th and will be open for GTs, touring cars and 24H specials with classes similar to CREVENTIC's endurance races in Dubai and Hungary.

CREVENTIC's Gerrie Willems is very enthusiastic about the co-operation with the Spanish organisation: "The 24H of Barcelona are quite well-known. In the past, there have been fields of up to 75 cars for that race. Of course, the Circuit de Catalunya is an excellent venue with facilities to Formula 1 standards and the region with the beautiful beaches and the city of Barcelona is one of Europe's most popular destinations for holidays or short breaks. Being able to race there at the end of September is just fantastic and already now, many of the regular competitors in our events have expressed their interest in this race, which will now be part of our 24H SERIES. The entry fee for teams is only 3,500 Euros, including fuel. That is a very interesting proposition!"

A new date for 12H of Hungary

The addition of the 24H of Barcelona to CREVENTIC's portfolio of endurance races has a consequence for the 12H of Hungary. The fourth running of the race at the beautiful Hungaroring has now moved from its traditional October date to the third weekend of May. This event will again be organised by CREVENTIC and DNRT. "Keeping our October date would be too close to the 24H of Barcelona, which would prevent some teams from doing both races", Willems explains. "Therefore, together with the Hungaroring management, co-operative as ever, we have found a new date, meaning that the 12H of Hungary will now be held on May 21st and 22nd. Practice sessions and qualifying will take place on Saturday, the race will be on Sunday. Teams can arrive on Friday evening or Saturday morning, so those who want can even make it a two-day event."

7th Dunlop 24H of Dubai: January 12th till 14th, 2012

Meanwhile, the date for the seventh edition of the Dunlop 24H of Dubai, the first international 24-hour race of the new year, organised by CREVENTIC and DNRT, has also been set. The event for GTs, touring cars and 24H specials at the Dubai Autodrome will be held from January 12th till 14th, 2012. "This year's race was a great success and we are already working on next year's event", says Gerrie Willems. "To make the race more attractive for teams with smaller cars we have a reduced entry fee and also a special offer for transportation for cars from these categories. Entry is open already and I am sure that next year's race will again be a highlight at the start of the season."
