Dubai 24H: Team rhinos Leipert preview

Team rhino's Leipert's first race of their Lamborghini at the 24 h Dubai

For the 6th time, Team rhino's Leipert from Wegberg are at the start of the 24 h Dubai race which is held between 13 and 15 January, 2011. Therefore, they are one of the few teams who have been part of it from the very beginning in January 2006.

Their drivers must be among the youngest of the starting grid which comprises 88 racing cars. Two Austrian drivers, Gerhard Tweraser (22) and Dominik Baumann (18), as well as three Czechs, Petr Charouz (20), Jan Stovicek (35) and Jakub Knoll (19), form the driver team. The Austrian drivers are familiar faces from German Formula 3 and ADAC Formula Masters whilst Czech drivers Charouz and Stovicek were successful drivers in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo last year. Jakub Knoll brings experience with him which he has been gaining in Formula Renault over several years.

This year's 24h Dubai race marks a new era for the Team their first race in a Lamborghini GT3. As last year, the branding of the Leipert GT3 is held in typical black/orange colour and is used as such in Dubai, but apart from the logo of rhino's energy from Munich, who have been their partner for many years now, the Lamborghini now also carries the logo of their new partner KSI Germany (Kraemer Sonic Industries) from Herborn.

As team manager Ingo Leipert said: "For Dubai, it is our goal to finish among the top 10. Despite their young age, our drivers are very experienced. Especially the drivers with vast experience in Formula races know how important it is to show consistency and how to drive with care of the material over the racing distance. We have been gaining much experience on the Dubai Autodrome over the past years and are very confident. The entire team enters the first race of 2011 highly motivated and with much anticipation."

This coming season 2011, the Team is going to take part in ADAC GT Masters and FIA GT3 with two Lamborghini GT3 cars each. Furthermore, the Team is planning to take part in the 24h race at Spa as well as the Belgian racing car championship Belcar.
