Reigning Le Mans winner Lieb will team up with Long and US-based Australian David Calvert-Jones in a Competition Motorsports/McLrea Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R.

It will be a return of sorts for Lieb, who raced a Tekno Holden Commodore at the Bathurst 1000 back in 2013, while Calvert-Jones has already raced at the 12 Hour four times, including a 2015 outing with Long.

“The Bathurst 12 hour event has really come of age,” said Calvert-Jones .

“We are now seeing numerous factory supported GT3 programmes focusing on this iconic endurance race and I’m so excited to get back to Australia and race at Mount Panorama.”

Porsche Motorsport’s North American boss Jens Walther added that the brand is pleased with its Pro-Am line-up.

“This is the fourth time that [Calvert-Jones] is racing a Porsche at Bathurst,” he said.

“We are very happy that Marc Lieb joins [Calvert-Jones] and Patrick, who had a strong showing in 2015 and gained invaluable experience for this year’s race at the iconic Mount Panorama circuit.

“The line-up and the team make for a strong entry and definitely one to watch.”

The car will be backed iced coffee maker Ice Break, which this year backed Chris Pither’s Super Black Racing entry in Supercars as well as the Pither/Long/Calvert-Jones Porsche at Bathurst in 2015.
