Prodrive Supercars driver Mostert tested the MARC M6 at Bathurst back in November as part of BMW’s comprehensive pre-12 Hour test, reportedly logging impressive times on his first run in the car.

While it hasn’t been 100 per cent clear if the car would in fact be entered for the race, MARC GT has now confirmed that it will take part, with Mostert to be joined by promising Queenslander Morgan Haber, and Max Twigg, who has significant experience with an M6 GT3 after sharing the factory-supported BMW Team SRM entry with Steve Richards in Australian GT last season.

Paul Morris, who also tested the car at Bathurst in November, has not been announced as part of the final line-up.

The car will be run alongside MARC’s fleet of V8-powered Fords and Mazdas that run in the Invitational class.

“We’re pleased that this has come together and we have such a strong group of drivers assembled to drive the BMW,” MARC GT boss Ryan McLeod said.

“The programme has undergone some changes since we tested the car at Bathurst last November but what we will arrive with this February is a very strong team.

“Morgan is experienced in these cars and knows what it takes to be quick and to go the distance, while we’re also pleased to have Max join the team. He’s hugely experienced and also right up to speed on what the M6 needs, having spent all last year driving it in Australian GT.”

The MARC car is the fourth M6 to be entered in this year’s 12 Hour, alongside the two BMW Team SRM cars (one for Richards, Mark Winterbottom, and Marco Wittmann, and another for Mark Skaife, Tony Longhurst, Russell Ingall, and Timo Glock), and an overseas entry from German squad Walkenhorst.
