RAM Racing’s 24H Series campaign continues this weekend as it heads to the third round of the championship, the 12 Hours of Zandvoort, near Amsterdam in Holland, and the team hopes to continue its run of podiums with an outright race win.

The season started well for the Silverstone Park-based team when they finished second in Dubai 24 Hours in the #30 Mercedes SLS AMG GT3. Three months later, they took second place in the 12 Hours of Italy and now team principal Dan Shufflebottom says it’s time to take the outright win.

I think it's certainly the strongest driver line-up on the grid,

“We’ll make no bones about it, we’ll be disappointed with anything but a race win,” he commented. “But, the competition is tough and we’ve not raced at Zandvoort before so we know we’re going to have to work hard to do it.”

The 6.2-litre Mercedes SLS AMG GT3, donning a new livery this weekend, will be piloted by RAM Racing regular Tom Onslow-Cole (GB), who will be joined once again by AMG works-driver Thomas Jaeger (DE) and leading amateur GT driver Paul White (GB).

"I think it's certainly the strongest driver line-up on the grid," commented Shufflebottom. "If it all goes to plan on the day, I think the lads have a really good chance of setting pole and winning the race, which is no mean feat in our first year in the championship."

This is the first season in the 24H Series for the team that placed itself firmly on the map after winning the European Le Mans Series GTLM class in 2013, its debut year of racing.

“We first raced in this championship in Dubai 24 Hours in 2013 and then again in 2014. It is a great race and we admired the way the Creventic run things, so we were keen to explore the full championship. We haven’t been disappointed – the racing is close and competitive and the events are laid back but incredibly professional.”

The 24H Series is a six-round championship that comprises three 24- and three 12-hour races and has grids of up to 95 cars.

The 12 Hours of Zandvoort starts at 1600hrs on Friday 29 May and continues on Saturday 30 May 0700hrs.
