The squad is set to send two of its three new Mercedes AMG GT3s down under next February, with Waters set to join Strakka regulars Nick Leventis, Lewis Williamson, and David Fumanelli in one of the cars.
The second driver line-up is yet to be confirmed.
While Waters has six Bathurst 1000 starts under his belt, it will be his 12 Hour debut. It will also be the first time the Strakka squad has raced its new Mercedes hardware.
"I'm really excited about doing the 2018 Bathurst 12hr with Strakka Racing,” said Waters.
“It is a top-level team and I think we have a genuine shot at winning it. It’s also a race that I have always wanted to do and I can’t thank them enough for the opportunity."
Strakka racing director Jay Davenport added that Waters' knowledge of the legendary Mount Panorama circuit will come in handy next February.
“It’s great to have Cameron with us for our Mercedes AMG debut,” he said.
“Cameron recently secured his first Supercars victory and he is keen to share his knowledge of The Mountain, a track that’s new to Strakka.
"We know having Nick, Lewis and David in the same car worked well last season. Together with Cameron, this entry has a strong and competitive line up.
“Bathurst is a competitive event and it has its own rules and regulations, so we aren’t expecting it to be easy, but that said, with the quality we have in the driver line-ups and with the known reliability of the Mercedes AMG cars, we are sure we have a chance to fight at the front.”
