Podium place and overall lead for Edoardo Mortara at Mugello

Third podium position for Volkswagen in the Formula 3 Euro Series: Edoardo Mortara (I) in the Volkswagen-Dallara of Team Signature-Plus clinched fourth and third places, respectively, in the third and fourth races of the season at Mugello, Italy. After the two third places at the Hockenheim season opener, this marked the third podium position for the 210-hp four-cylinder engine from the Volkswagen Group. Before the city street race in Pau, France (30 May - 01 June) the 21-year-old Volkswagen driver Edoardo Mortara continues as the front runner of the standings with an equal points standing as the Finn Mika Maki (Mercedes-Dallara).

Successful endurance test with Scirocco in preparation for the Nordschleife

Only three days after his third place at the Central Europe Rally, which ended with Carlos Sainz (E) winning in the Volkswagen Race Touareg, Dieter Depping (D) was back in the cockpit again: with the racing version of the new Volkswagen Scirocco, Depping as well as Hans-Joachim Stuck (A), Francois Verbist (B) and Thomas Mutsch (D) completed an endurance test in preparation for the 24-Hour Race at the Nurburgring (23 - 25 May). The Scirocco cars powered by over 300 hp will contest this endurance classic in the "Green Hell".

Brian Mikkelsen wins Polo Cup Denmark opening race at the Jyllandsringen

Perfect start for Brian Mikkelsen in the Polo Cup Denmark: having started from pole position, the Dane celebrated victory at the opening race at the Jylandsringen ahead of Christoffer Osterby and Thomas Faraas. Dennis Elgaard, on the other hand, was unable to take advantage of his good starting position. Due to a false start, Elgaard was penalised and, despite having started from position two on the grid, did not manage a better finish than sixth.

Volkswagen Junior Rene Rast after podium finish leads table with equal score

Successful round for Rene Rast (D) at Mugello: the Volkswagen Junior captured the overall lead at the third race of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland season by clinching his second podium of the season. After finishing as the runner-up on the roller-coaster circuit in Tuscany, the 21-year-old driver from Steyerberg shares the top position with Chris Mamerow (D) and Nicolas Armindo (F). In addition to a flawless race, Rast's key to success was a good qualifying performance that saw him in second place on the first row of the grid.

Swedish Junior Touring Car Championship (JTCC)
Volkswagen Golf is dominating car on the Sturup Raceway

Five Volkswagen Golf cars in the Swedish Junior Touring Car Championship (JTCC), the five top grid positions and the 1-2-3-4-5 victory in the first of the two races: the Volkswagen Golf proved to be the dominating car at the second race of the JTCC at the Swedish Sturup Raceway. Pontus Tidemand ahead of Alexander Graff, Tommie Loof, Marcus Fluch and Johan Kristoffersson - this was the order of finishers in the first race. However, in the second event, Marcus Fluch, who leads the JTCC standings after four races, had to admit defeat to three rivals and came fourth ahead of his brand colleagues Johan Kristoffersson and Tommie Loof.
