Mercedes drew first blood in Formula 1’s 2019 season, Valtteri Bottas aiming verbal abuse at his critics as he headed Lewis Hamilton home in the Australian Grand Prix.
The shock of Mercedes’ dominant form in the season-opener was only matched by the surprise of a lack of a challenge from Ferrari and Red Bull, which both delivered strong performances in pre-season testing.
