Canadian Grand Prix driver ratings
A race of little on-track action meant some of the best performances were hard to see, and while one driver ends high marks for showing restraint others let themselves down with their reluctance to push harder.

Lewis Hamilton
Rating: 6
Hamilton looked good on Friday, but life got harder even though he reckoned that pole position was achievable had it not been for struggles on the brakes at the hairpin. He should certainly have still been on the front row. Power dropouts compromised his race, but Hamilton did a solid job even though he lost a place to Ricciardo's overcut. Fine, but not the Hamilton we expect in Montreal.
Valtteri Bottas
Rating: 9
Bottas became only the second driver to outqualify Hamilton in the same equipment in Montreal, which is a big achievement in itself. He also did a good job to stay ahead of Verstappen despite picking up some wheelspin at the start then hold him off while fuel saving late on, which ensures he gets such a high rating.
