Lewis Hamilton

Rating: 7

This was one of those occasional weekends when the usual Lewis Hamilton doesn't turn up. He was perfectly decent, but lacked his usual spark and admitted the car seemed to turn upside down for him between Friday and Saturday. Qualifying was better than the race - he lapped five hundredths off Bottas on Saturday - but he still came away with a solid result on Sunday.

Valtteri Bottas

Rating: 10

Bottas had the measure of Hamilton in qualifying and the race, and probably should have won had the textbook execution of an undercut pass at the first pitstops not been cancelled out by the safety car bringing Red Bull into the game. To be hyper-critical, maybe he could have defended more aggressively against Ricciardo, but he was never going to stay ahead.
