The Mexican teen will be the sole driver across the two days of testing on May 17-18, with neither Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg, getting a run.

This will be Celis' fourth time in the VJM09, after a stint at the pre-season Barcelona test, as well making his grand prix weekend debut in Bahrain in FP1, followed by a second run in Russia.

The Mexican, who is dovetailing his F1 role with Formula V8 3.5 season, is to get seven FP1 runs, as part of his 2016 programme with the team.

While speaking to Motorsport.com in Bahrain, the Force India development driver stressed on the importance of getting track time and learning throughout the year.

"The goal definitely is to improve step by step, it is my first year in F1, so I have got still a lot of things to learn," he said.

"So, I just have to be really patient and improve everytime I get into the car, and by the end of the year, we can see a big improvement."

The Sliverstone-based squad will have an upgraded VJM09 in the Spanish GP, as team principal Vijay Mallya suggested that the car will look "quite different", in the pre-race release.
