After a three-week summer break, the Formula 1 season resumes in Belgium at a track that Hulkenberg thinks his team can be competitive at.
"We go to Spa hoping to bounce back from a tough race in Hungary," Hulkenberg said ahead of the weekend.
"The improvements we’ve made to the car will really help us in Spa, especially through the high-speed corners.
"The engine also plays a big part around the lap. We are competitive and I am confident we can start the second part of the season strongly," the German added who sits ninth in the drivers' championship with 24 points.
Sergio Perez echoed his teammate and said: "I think the characteristics of the track and its emphasis on power and top speed should suit our car."
"We have shown some good pace in the last few races and we should be in a position to get a good result," the Mexican added who is 13th in the championship with 15 points.
Perez also raised the fact that the weather may play a part in Belgium as it may rain which could change the order.
Team Principal, Dr. Vijay Mallya looking at the 'positives' from the first half, stated that the team is confident of a Q3 result in qualifying while 'good points' is the aim for Sunday at Spa.
The team sits fifth in the teams' championship with 39 points.
