Eddie Jordan supports FIA regulation changes, while Jordan receives boost from fans

Eddie Jordan responded positively to the announcement from the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile which revealed changes to Formula One's sporting regulations, saying, "It was a good meeting today with some very very positive moves forward. I have been calling for changes to improve the show, and also to control costs, for a while, and I think the outcome of today's meeting, which you can see in Max and Bernie's statement, is very encouraging."

Ian Phillips, Jordan's Director of Business Affairs, added, "These are the most radical changes we've seen in Formula One for a long time. We should see the show improve as a result and I think it's a very good start."

Meanwhile, members of Jordan Grand Prix's fan club turned out in force this weekend to attend Jordan's second ever factory Open Day. Club Jordan members were invited by the team to visit the Silverstone factory, and the ticket limit of 1000 was reached almost immediately after invitations were released.

Mark Gallagher, Jordan's Head of Marketing said, "Anyone who thinks people aren't excited about F1 any more should have seen the 1000 fans we had here on Saturday (26 October). They were so happy to get close to the team and I'd say every one of them, some of whom travelled from as far afield as Ireland and Holland to visit us, were delighted to see the team up close."

The team received dozens of emails from fans who attended, one commenting, "We had a truly fantastic day. We stood in awe of the exhibits and displays that had been laid out and were amazed and very impressed at the lengths you had gone to in order to give us an in depth and informative look 'behind the scenes' of a Formula One team. There was never a dull moment as all the activities and displays kept us busy all through the day. We were overwhelmed by the friendly staff who were on hand to answer all our questions and give comprehensive insights into their roles in the team. We came away with the memories of a magnificent day and feel very privileged to have been given such an opportunity."
