"Scary" kerb removed from top of Eau Rouge

The new kerb was added for this weekend in a bid to deter drivers from cutting across the track at Raidillon.

But after it was labelled as "scary" by Jenson Button and prompted concern on the opening day of practice, drivers asked for changes to be made for Saturday.

The FIA has duly removed the orange kerb on the apex of Turn 4.

However, in a note sent to teams, the governing body has made it clear that any driver that cuts the corner and gains an advantage will be punished.

The FIA has also changed the kerb on the exit of Turn 1 to make it easier for drivers to rejoin the track.

The note stated: "The last 10 meters of the bump behind the kerb on the exit of Turn 1 has been removed. Drivers may, therefore, re-join the track more easily without crossing a bump a second time."
