The first answers about the F1 2019 pecking order are in, and Mercedes was in a league of its own at the front of the pack. As our experts Edd Straw and Scott Mitchell explain from Melbourne, it's remarkable to think that a Mercedes one-two in the modern era of F1 could be a surprise, but this time it really is. Was it just as simple as everyone - including the other teams - misreading the picture during testing? Behind the shocks at the front we also got a clear sign of just how close the midfield pack is, which means there is no room for slip-ups, while Williams remains cut adrift as expected.
