Filip Salaquarda is set to join Prema Powerteam for the remainder of the 2009 World Series Renault 3.5 championship. The Czech driver will line-up alongside Julian Leal starting from the fourth round of the season at Budapest, on June 13 and 14. Salaquarda will be replacing Prema's F.3 Euro Series regular Stefano Coletti, who went for a one-time appearance at his own home track in Monte Carlo.
"Salaquarda proved to be a really fast driver - told Team Principal Angelo Rosin - and he also has quite some experience too. We followed him in the 2008 Formula 3 Euro Series, but we couldn't close a deal at that time. We're glad to have him for the season, and I'm sure we will round great results during our co-operation."
"I'm extremely happy for an opportunity like this, that could definitely boost my career. I had the chance to test a World Series Renault car, making my debut at the Monaco Grand Prix in the most important event of the season. I built an immediate feeling with the car: it's really tough to tame but extremely rewarding. I'll be facing a tough job at Prema, but I'm sure I'll manage to get repaid for my efforts. I'm also looking forward to honor them with some great results after they trusted me for this new challenge."
