Pippa Mann Signs for 2007 World Series Campaign with Cram by P1 Europe

British racer Pippa Mann is to become the first female to compete in the World Series by Renault 3.5 Championship, as she signs for the UK-based team Cram by P1 Europe.

After a difficult year running in the hugely competitive Formula Renault UK 2.0 and Eurocup championships, Mann participated in three official WSR tests with Pons Racing and Draco Motorsport, during which time she impressed with her consistency and quick adjustment to the more powerful cars.

Since this time Mann has been looking to make the fairly significant step of graduating into the World Series by Renault and today it is announced that she will drive Cram by P1 Europe with Roly Vincini as Chief Engineer.

Mann is excited about being part of their 2007 World Series by Renault campaign: "Since I first drove the hybrid World Series car last September I knew this was where I wanted to be. There was some talk of me entering into British F3 but in my heart I knew I wanted to be in WSR. In official winter testing I was able to test with some of the top teams, but when the opportunity arose to work with Roly again I jumped at it!"

Mann went on to talk about her expectations for the season: "This is going to be a learning year for me as I will certainly be one of the less experienced drivers in the field. However, this is not a short-term project and I am confident that with the expertise and experience of the team I will be able to fulfill my potential."
