Red flags in qualifying hamper Zeta Corse's in Moscow

After an exciting Sunday in Moscow, where F.Renault 3.5 is holding the fifth round of the season, Zeta Corse closed the weekend in less shiny fashion, struggling both in qualifying and in the race.

After yesterday's strong showing the team felt that another great result was in their reach, but the outcome of the day proved them wrong. Track conditions today were different due to a rainstorm that struck the track during the night, and that required the teams to change their setup. That, and two red flags during the session didn't allow the Zeta Corse drivers to find the pace: Will Buller closed the session in P15 while Mihai Marinescu qualified on 11th row, in 22nd place. Then in the race the brit lost some ground on lap 1 to avoid contact with another car, and despite a perfect pit-stop (his first ever) he couldn't do better than P20. Mihai Marinescu, in the meantime, had a good start but then a contact with another car costed him some time. Despite that, the Romanian driver drove a good race to recover to P18.

“My physical conditions were much better today, so finally we could focus on car setup. It paid off, because our pace was quick and I could keep up with guys that are usually faster than us. The team did a god job in the pit-stop, but that clash with Cunha in the first laps ruined my race. He just closed the door damaging both my nosecone and a rim. I was lucky to finish the race".

William Buller: Q2 - P15; R2 - P20

“Compared to yesterday we couldn't make the most of our potential, or maybe our rivals made a step forward compared to us. In the end my laptime was 4 tenths quicker than yesterday, but I could have done better if the session wasn't disrupted by red flags. Anyway, I really felt home with the Zeta Corse guys, and I really want to thank them for their great top-notch job and for this opportunity".
