Just a step away from victory, Baguette still on the second step of the podium
Pole position, second place yesterday, second place today, fast lap in Race 1, Baguette brings home in a weekend a lot of points for the ranking of the season, he is now very close to Martinez, in the head. But it is a pity that he he was unable to sound the anthem of Belgium, long awaited by thousands of people on the steps.
Baguette starts in the head and after a few laps he is already far away, with a detachment of more than 4 seconds. But there are some crashs at the back and the safety car enters and it cancels the detachments. When the race resumed, Baguette takes Walker and Molina behind without any problem, and he registers the fast lap. When there is the mandatory pit stop in race 2, Baguette seeks to increase the gap, but at 16 minutes from the end he must fall to the Draco box where the team choose to change the rear tires. The mechanics are fast but Walker managed to surpass the output of the box a minute before returning to the track of Baguette and so the Belgian is in second position behind the English. The Draco driver tries to recover for overtaking but the sky is dark and a few drops of rain begin to fall. Baguette can not risk and he maintains the position coming second at the checkered flag. On the podium at Spa, the Belgian was again applauded by all his audience.
A hard fought race with overtaking, recovery and go out for Marco Barba, started eighth like the standings of Superpole, the Spanish conquests some potion and he is 6th. A perfect pit stop by Draco mechanics, and the driver tries suffered an exciting overtaking but he goes out of the track and he loses precious seconds. He finishes the race in 13th position.
