Varano: first Formula 3 podium for Riccardo Cinti

Positive outcome for team Corbetta Competizioni at Varano in the sixth round of the Italian F.3 championship where Riccardo Cinti got points in both the races and scored his first podium of the category.

Saturday's qualifying showed the growth of the driver from Lazio, author of the final seventh best lap time (1'03.148).

In race one, Cinti did not commit any mistakes and after getting a couple of position at the start, he kept the fifth place until the chequered flag, a results that gave him the first row on race two's grid.

The bagarre at the start of race two forced the driver for Corbetta team to give away a position but he managed to keep a high race pace since the beginning which allowed him to finish the race in third position and receive the podium's honours.

In the rookies' classification, Cinti is currently fourth with 82 points, just two points adrift Edoardo Liberati that precedes him.

Angelo Corbetta (Corbetta Competizioni, Team Principal): "The development work that we have been performing for weeks starts to show the first fruits: we did not go bad at Misano and here we came back to a good level of competitiveness. Cinti, as the whole team, is growing a lot: today his first podium in Formula 3 arrived and the third place in the final rookies' classification is definitely at his reach".

Next round of the Italian Formula 3 championship is scheduled for 6 September at Imola.
