ATS Formula 3 Cup
Volkswagen driver Laurens Vanthoor finishes second twice at the Nurburgring

With two second-place finishes at races eleven and twelve staged as part of the 1000-km race at the Nurburgring, Volkswagen driver Laurens Vanthoor improved to fifth place in the ATS Formula 3 Cup Championship. For the 17-year-old Belgian, these marked the fourth and fifth podium positions. Laurens Vanthoor laid the groundwork for these exploits as early as in qualifying: in his Dallara F307 Volkswagen from the Van Amersfoort team (NL) he clinched position two on the grid for both races. His team-mate Rahel Frey (CH) saw the chequered flag in positions nine and 13.

ADAC Formula Masters
Victories for Markus Pommer and Kevin Friesacher at the Nurburgring

Markus Pommer (Erlenbach) and Kevin Friesacher (Austria) clinched victories in races seven and eight of the ADAC Formula Masters powered by Volkswagen at the Nurburgring. In Saturday's race Pommer won ahead of Daniel Abt (Kempten) and Nico Marvin Monien (Romerstein), on Sunday Friesacher won in front of the Portuguese Armando Parente and - yet again - Monien. After winning the race the day before, Pommer was struck by misfortune on Sunday: while running in front, he retired on the last lap. A strong performance in Saturday's race was shown by Emma Kimilainen from Finland, who recovered from eleventh place on the grid to fourth in the race. On Sunday, however, she retired.

Maiden victory at home race: Chris Castagna dominates at Lime Rock

Chris Castagna celebrated his first victory in the Jetta TDI Cup: in front of a home audience the 22-year-old from South Boston/Massachusetts won the fourth round of Volkswagen's American diesel-powered one-make cup at Lime Rock Park, Connecticut. In the 30-minute sprint race Castagna took the lead early and defended it all the way to the finish. Second place went to Mark Pombo (Duluth), who finished in front of rookie Josh Hurley (Cooper City).

Volkswagen Polo Cup Denmark
Dennis Elgaard triumphs at the Jyllandsringen

Dennis Elgaard clinched his second victory of the season at the fourth round of the Volkswagen Polo Cup Denmark staged at the Jyllandsringen. Having stated from pole, the junior driver claimed a commanding victory ahead of Thue Kristensen and Jens Enemark. At his comeback in the Danish Polo Cup Kennie Frydkjær-Jensen, who normally contests the German ADAC Volkswagen Polo Cup, finished fourth and set his fastest race lap in the process.

Volkswagen Racing Cup Great Britain
Adrian Dziurzynski and Joe Fulbrook: victory for the veteran, victory for the leader

Races eleven and twelve of the Volkswagen Racing Cup at Silverstone, Great Britain, ended in victory for the oldest car in the field and a triumph for the leader of the standings. Adrian Dziurzynski won the first round in a Volkswagen Golf GTI Series 2. It was his first victory in this cup. Joe Fulbrook decided the second race in his favour in his Volkswagen Bora, thus expanding his overall lead. Jamie Perry in a current Golf GTI continues ranking in second place ahead of Steve Chaplin in the Volkswagen Beetle RSI.
