ATS Formula 3 Cup
Volkswagen driver Tom Dillmann wins Formula 3 Cup

Tom Dillmann is the new ATS Formula 3 Cup Champion. The 21-year-old Frenchman merely needed a second-place finish in Saturday's race of the finale at Oschersleben to win the title. Volkswagen Junior Daniel Abt had travelled to the venue as the only remaining candidate for the title but wasn't able to catch up with his rival despite winning round one. The victory on Sunday was celebrated by Volkswagen racer Willi Steindl, Dillmann and Abt retired. Prior to the two races the crowd witnessed a world debut. From 2012 onwards the racing cars in the Formula 3 Cup will be fitted with the novel Volkswagen Power Engine. As in the Volkswagen Scirocco-R-Cup, Formula 3 will offer its spectators even more exciting and action-packed races than ever with the "push-to-pass" function. Last year's champion Laurens Vanthoor drove a demo lap of the Dallara-Volkswagen on the track.

The seventh race weekend of the Formula Volkswagen South Africa at Killarney was dominated by Simon Moss.
