FISICHELLA MOTOR SPORT SET THE PACE IN IMOLA: AFTER FREE PRACTICE CIOMPI LEADS AHEAD HIS TEAM MATE FILIPPI
After free practice session, Fisichella Motor Sport set the pace with the two Italian drivers Alessandro Ciompi (1'39"558) and Luca Filippi (1'40"070), whose took respectively the first and second time.
The Finn Toni Vilander (Team Astromega) and Jarek Janis (Ma-Con Charouz Junior Team) conquered the second row, just ahead the Renault official driver Pastor Maldonado (Sighinolfi) and the Italian Giacomo Ricci, who is third in the Drivers Classification after the first three rounds.
Raffaele Giammaria joined BCN for Imola race, taking immediately the 8th position at his debut with the Spanish team. In the last two years, the Italian talented driver have been taking part in the International F. 3000 Championship, scoring one podium in Montecarlo with Durango and many good results.
Alex Lloyd joined GP Racing for his championship debut and took the 9th position (1'41"815) after only few laps with the Lola B02/50. The GP Racing newcomer is one of the English most talented driver and certainly he will be able to show his performance in the Italian F. 3000 Trophy.
In the Light Class, Stefano Gattuso dominated the session with an excellent 1'42"659, while the other newcomer and Italian F. 3 front runner Giacomo Piccini (Euronova) scored the 15th time (1'42"729).
Tomorrow, the starting grid will be decided after two qualifying session of 30 minutes each (10:30-11:00; 15:20-15:50).
