Rain affects Facu Regalia's performance

The torrential rain at Spa-Francorchamps prevented Facu Regalia from showing his true potential. However he intends to overcome a bad qualifying and achieve some good results in this weekend races.

His bad luck in the last few races of the Formula BMW Europe championship continued today as he achieved the eleventh and the twelfth positions for the races of the Belgian Grand Prix program.

The things started to go wrong in the practice as the Spanish-Argentinean driver was out of the to-ten, but, nevertheless, he was still optimistic. "We were with new brake pads and the others were already in used ones. The track was very wet and kept raining. All drivers made their lap times in the beginning of the session when I couldn't push. However, the feeling is good", said the Eifelland Racing driver.

However, the optimism would be transformed in pessimism, with the rain, again, affecting the qualifying. With some problems ahead, Facu Regalia was prevented from following the fastest drivers. "It's hard to understand. The track looked like a swimming pool, with lot of standing water, but I can't understand the qualifying results. I was fourth at the beginning, but the others improved their times, something that I wasn't able to do" said the eighteen years old driver.

Without wanting to excuse himself, he said "we have to improve a lot, the team and myself, if we want to achieve any result this weekend. We have to study the telemetry so we can see where are the problems that I felt, because I thought that I was being fast but, as we can clearly see, I wasn't. We are missing performance to achieve a good result".

The first of the weekend races will be held tomorrow, which will have nine laps, and will start at 9h45, local time.
