Regalia among the fastest in the Qualifying
Facu Regalia was in good shape in today's qualifying of the Valencia event of the Formula BMW Europe. The youngster will start tomorrow's race from the fifth position and Sunday's from the fourth.
The Spanish-Argentinean driver began to show his potential in the morning practice when he showed a good pace that, with a good set-up, would allow him to fight for good results in the afternoon's qualifying.
The eighteen years old driver signed the seventh fastest lap of the session, but he felt that he could do better: "I was clearly improving my sectors, as everyone waited for the last moments of the session, and I was heading for the top of time-sheets, but I made a mistake in the last corner, and there I lost seventh tenths. I think that, without it, I would be on the top. The car is good so, I feel confident".
In the qualifying the promising Spanish-Argentinean signed the fifth and the fourth fastest laps, places from where he will start the first and the second race, respectively, being the fastest driver among the Eifelland Racing's drivers. "With the first set of tires I was third, but at the end two drivers improved their times and I was pushed back to fifth. I did my best and I think it was difficult to achieve a better result. The track changed after the practice, and was harder for the drivers and the car wasn't as fast as in the morning", said Facu Regalia after the qualifying. The goal for the weekend's race is the same, to reach the podium, something that happened at Zandvoort "but using my head and thinking in the championship, so avoiding mistakes it will be really important, because here, any error might end on the wall.
The first race, which will have eleven laps, will start at 9.45h, local time.
