Regalia in the podium fight
Facu Regalia will start tomorrow's Zandvoort races from the third and the sixth places, placing himself as a contender for the podium positions, after missing the pole-position for less than a tenth.
The eighteen years old driver started the Formula BMW Europe's second weekend very well and ended the morning practice in the fifth position, even though he faced some troubles. "It wasn't that bad. I signed the fifth best lap time, but could be a little better, because when the tyres were at their best there was a red flag. I think that I could be second. Besides, we suffered from some understeer, but the team is working on it and I think it will be fixed for the qualifying", said the Spanish-Argentinean driver in the morning.
In the qualifying, Facu Regalia was among the top runners since its beginning, proving that he will be one of the main contenders to the podium steps. He was on the second place for most of the session, but in the last moments one of his opponents improved his time and the Eifelland Racing driver was demoted to the third place of the grid, very near from the pole- time. "I lost less than a tenth to the pole-position, something I think it is a good result. Starting from third, the cleanest side of the track, I think I can reach the podium, something for which I've been working very hard", underlined the eighteen years old driver, that was the fastest of his team.
For the second race, that will start tomorrow in the afternoon, Facu Regalia will start from the sixth position. Though he was less than three tenths from the fastest driver, the Spanish-Argentinean driver wasn't completely pleased. "I should have done one more lap. We lost some time changing the tires and that prevented me of having another go. On the other hand, I made mistake in one of my laps and in another one I found some traffic, so I lost the fifth position by 0,001s", said the Spanish- Argentinean driver.
