Millroy Majestic For Motaworld

Motaworld Racing hit the ground running at Monza last week when team driver Ollie Millroy set the best time during official testing for the Formula BMW Europe championship.

The team from Chatham, Kent was delighted when their teenage prospect from Claygate, Surrey managed to lap the legendary Italian Grand Prix track in a time of 1m. 59.080s. And his next best lap time was still better than that of any other driver.

As a bonus, during the first day of the test Millroy had the pleasure of working closely with GP2 champion and Monza winner Giorgio Pantano.

Afterwards Millroy, a British MSA Race Academy Elite driver said "We've had a very strong two-day test. Considering this is the first season my race engineer Paul Smith has worked on a Formula BMW car we have made a good, solid start. The car feels quick, it's good to drive and Paul is great to work with. Everyone in the Motaworld Racing team is working well together: there is a good atmosphere and we are all confident that we will be even stronger before the first race at Barcelona in May."

The team's two other drivers also performed well. 2008 Danish karting champion Mikkel Mac, in only his second official test with a Formula BMW car was 16th of the 26 drivers and Asad Rahman looked on the verge of making a breakthrough to move further up the grid.

Team owner Alan Waite said "The entire test at Monza was a great success for Motaworld. Ollie has again shown his talent in what is probably the most competitive championship for young drivers in the world and he is sure to be a strong contender for this year's Formula BMW Europe championship."

He added "I also find it interesting that Ollie and Michael Christensen, the next best classified driver at this test were both brought into Formula BMW by Motaworld Racing and trained to win BMW scholarships."
