Team Autotecnica and RC Motorsport today announce a collaboration for participation in the Formula BMW Europe racing championship for 2010 and beyond.

The combination of one of North America's and one of Europe's leading open-wheel racing operations shall bring to the track nearly thirty years of combined racing experience with a sure shot towards the top of the podium. The name that shall represent this collaborative venture is 'Autotecnica-RC'.

Autotecnica-RC combines the technical abilities and knowledge of the two teams with the headquarters at RC's large and well-equipped shop near Milan, Italy. The cars, provided by Autotecnica, shall be shipped over shortly from Canada in time to test and prepare drivers in Europe before the end of the year for the 2010 racing season. Young drivers looking to work with a dedicated team shall find unprecedented service and commitment from Autotecnica-RC. The Formula BMW Europe Championship promises excellent venues in support of all the Formula One races in Europe with live TV coverage.

The addition of Formula BMW to RC's fleet of race cars introduces a valued progression for drivers within the team to move up to F3 and then Renault World Series while continuing to work with a well-respected and dependable crew. RC's collaboration with Autotecnica also opens the channels for drivers to move from the Americas to Europe through a known link as well as for Europeans to take advantage of their strong currency and race in the Americas in some well-respected championships with Autotecnica.

Based in Toronto, Canada, Autotecnica has been a championship and race-winning team competing in Formula BMW since 2004 and brings with it six seasons worth of victories and a rich heritage. Alumni from Autotecnica include Esteban Gutierrez, Robert Wickens, Gianmarco Raimondo, and Richard Philippe. Autotecnica also competed in the Formula Renault 2000 category in North America and won the Winter Series in 2003 in its first year of operation.

Based near Milan, Italy, RC Motorsport has been active in European and International racing since 1989 and definitely has a pure racing pedigree. With Formula 3 as its main activity in both the Italian and European championships, the team has also ventured in categories including Formula Renault, Formula Nissan, and Renault World Series, amongst others. RC alumni include Robert Kubica, Giancarlo Fisichella, Alessandro Zanardi, Enrique Bernoldi, Narain Karthikeyan, Augusto Farfus, and many others that have reached the top. Countless race victories and championships have gone into history to RC's credit.

Interested drivers should contact either Enrico Diano in Toronto or Cristiano Giardina in Milan for more details relevant to the testing and racing season. Applications for fall and winter tests in Europe are now open.
