Quaife-Hobbs Confirms FBMW With Fortec Motorsport

Adrian Quaife-Hobbs has confirmed he will contest the 2007 Formula BMW UK Championship with current champions Fortec Motorsport. The 15 year-old reigning 2005 BRSCC T-Car Champion signed with the Daventry-based team this week after becoming one of only five drivers to be selected for the coveted FBMW Scholarship, worth £35,000.

Thirty-four young hopefuls attended the Licence Course in January and 21 were selected to return to the Valencia track in Spain to demonstrate their driving abilities in a FBMW car to a panel of judges including former F1 World Champion Nigel Mansell. The teenager, who became the youngest ever winner of an MSA sanctioned car racing championship and the youngest ever driver to be awarded prestigious BRDC Rising Star will join the established Richard Dutton-headed Fortec Motorsport team as it bids to retain its title next season.

As well as the financial backing provided by winning the scholarship, the Tonbridge teenager, who attends Sackville School, will also receive a place on the Education and Coaching Programme which will provide driver coaching, media and PR tuition and heath and fitness training. Adrian will now undergo a testing programme prior to his assault on next year's championship, which will once again support the prestigious British Touring Car Championship next season.

"This is a great opportunity to be run by the championship winning team, as they have a proven record. I am looking forwarding to working with Richard and all the team."
