Maxime Pelletier going for Rookie of the Year!

Montreal, Quebec -- August 28, 2006 -- Sportimage.net -- Young Longueuil driver Maxime Pelletier will be taking part again this weekend in the BMW USA Series as it stops over in Mosport (Ontario) for the last two races of the season.

Now in fourth place in the rookie Championship, Pelletier hopes this new venue will take him back to first place to be Rookie of the Year 2006. He has 142 points, 13 points behind Daniel Morad, actual leader in this championship. Where there's a will, there is a way! "The last two races in Denver were not to my liking. But my goal is to get back to first rank and win this title are still very feasible, even if I have little experience and no experience at all on this Mosport track", said Pelletier. "I heard a lot about this track, I know it is a demanding circuit, very fast. In short, everything I like! I thrill on this type of circuit, where you need a very well tuned car and a very big heart to go to the limit."

In his Gelles Racing open-wheeler, Maxime wants to gain experience in this series and enjoy the last races of the season. "I want them to be my races. I'm going to Mosport without real pressure, so I want to drive my way. The advice I get is always welcome, but I need some room to allow for my own style of driving. This is what I did in Denver and I made the 4th qualifying time!

Maxime Pelletier will be on the track this Friday for two free lapping 30-minute sessions. Qualifying session for the first race will be from 3:55 PM to 4:25 PM. Qualifying for the second race will take place from 9:35 AM to 10:05 AM on Saturday. The 13th BMW USA Series race will take place on Saturday at 4:25 PM and the last race of the season will be on Sunday at 1:35PM, shortly before the prestigious American Le Mans Series.

Maxime Pelletier takes part in the BMW USA Series with Gelles Racing, with the support from Longueuil Collège Charles Lemoyne, Western Union and BMW of Sterling.
