USA: Philip Major Lime Rock race report

           Formula BMW USA  Philip Major grabs a top 10 at Lime Rock!

                Major moves forward with top 10 in round seven.

LIME ROCK PARK, CT Formula BMW USA driver Philip Major had a hectic Saturday at Lime Rock Park with two races in a single day. After qualifying 10th for round 7 and 12th for round 8 in varying weather conditions on Friday, Major was upbeat about his chances heading into Saturday.

"The grid is very close," Major said and I know we can improve on our starting positions tomorrow."

In round seven, Major drove a solid race moving up to eight place. Major set his fastest race lap on the final lap and that gave him more confidence heading into round eight later in the day.

At the start of round 8, Major once again moved up before he tangled with another driver. This sent him off the track and down the order to 15th. Major was able to continue and put in a spirited drive to finish 11th in round 8. "In the second race, we were really running well until the incident," Major said. "After that I did all I could to salvage a good finish."

Major now has a few weeks off before heading to the West Coast for the San Jose Grand Prix on July 27-29.
