Round five of the FIA Formula E Championship on Saturday will be held in a dreamlike setting. The pit lane and paddock are located directly in the heart of Miami on Biscayne Bay and the circuit leads around the arena of the Miami Heat basketball stars. As a result, ABT Sportsline, the only German team in the field, is looking forward to the event with particularly eager anticipation.

Lucas di Grassi rings Nasdaq closing bell on Times Square

A great honour for Lucas di Grassi and Formula E: The Brazilian rang the Nasdaq closing bell on famous Times Square on Tuesday. DHL, a partner of the series and of Team ABT Sportsline, had made the visit to New York possible. The ringing of the bell has great significance in the United States and is broadcast by several major TV channels.

Artist Romero Britto designs Lucas di Grassi’s helmet

It will be one of the eye-catchers during the weekend: The Brazilian neo pop artist Romero Britto has created a special helmet design for his compatriot Lucas di Grassi for the race in Miami. Britto lives and works in Miami and in 2005 he was appointed Florida’s ‘Ambassador of the Arts. He will be watching the race together with Team ABT.

Warsteiner Night gets everyone in the mood for the weekend

It has by now become a cherished tradition: On Thursday night partner Warsteiner rang in the Formula E weekend in Miami by hosting the ‘Electric Thursday’. Drivers, members of the media and members of other teams got in the mood for the race at MAPS Backlot in the designers’ district over cool drinks and accompanied by music and a graffiti artist.

Spontaneous volleyball match on Ocean Drive

What should any visitor to Miami be sure not to miss? Obviously, it’s an excursion to Ocean Drive, the boulevard on South Beach. While Daniel Abt was enjoying the flair of the famed street, his team-mate Lucas di Grassi was persuaded to participate in a spontaneous volleyball match on the beach. The result: plenty of fun preceding the serious action on track.

Daniel Abt experiences home victory of Miami Heat

A perfect night for basketball fan Daniel Abt: On Wednesday night the German joined the crowd of 19,600 spectators in watching the home victory of the Miami Heat live at the arena. Formula E had invited Abt together with his fellow drivers Karun Chandhok, Sam Bird and Jaime Alguersuari.
