The French driver will get an opportunity to run the Aguri Spark-Renault on Tuesday during the first official pre-season test at the Leicestershire track.

Dillmann, 26, won a GP2 race at Bahrain in 2012 and will drive alongside the team’s season one driver Salvador Duran next week.

“I am really excited to learn a new discipline of single-seater racing and have a chance in this great Championship,” Dillmann told Motorsport.com.

“I am going to a simulator now in Monaco to work through some things with the team. I know I have a lot to learn, but I think it will be a very interesting test next week for me.”

Dillmann, who is driving for Carlin in Formula Renault 3.5 this season, also told Motorsport.com about his desire to race in Formula E, saying: “Formula E is obviously a championship of the future.

"It is developing a lot and in my opinion the first year was very good. For me, as a driver, it is important to get experience in this championship and hopefully race in it.”

Team Aguri won the Buenos Aires eprix last January with Antonio Felix Da Costa and have chosen to stick with the original Spark-Renault powertrain for season two.

Led by experienced former F1 engineers Mark Preston and Gerry Hughes, the team has been testing at Donington in preparation for the new season.

As well as Dillmann, Motorsport.com understands that the team is in contact with a current Formula One test driver in regards to a seat with the team for the 2015/16 season of Formula E.
