Haryanto to test Formula E car at Valencia
Ex-Formula 1 driver Rio Haryanto will test a Formula E car for the first time during next week’s official pre-season test at Valencia.

The Indonesian contested 12 grands prix for the Manor team last season, earning a best finish of 16th in Austria, before losing his drive due to budget problems.
Haryanto has not raced in 2017 but has announced he will get behind the wheel of an electric single-seater on the second day of the pre-season test.
Formula E testing runs on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at the Spanish track this week, with Wednesday reserved for additional track activity.
It is not known whether Haryanto will join one of the 10 race teams for his test, or if he will drive a Spark-run demonstration car – in similar fashion to James Rossiter earlier this year.
Champ Car race winner Patrick Carpentier will also make a cameo at Valencia, while Moroccan driver Michael Benyahia has been linked with an appearance during the test.
"I'm really looking forward to my first Formula E test, having watched some of its most exciting wheel-to-wheel battles on TV,” Haryanto said on his official Facebook page.
“Formula E has been providing close competition and with many manufacturers coming onboard, it looks like the championship will continue growing around the world.
“It would be great to see a Formula E race on the streets of Jakarta one day and showcase the future of motorsport and automobile in general.”
