The Long Beach ePrix, round six of the 2015/16 FIA Formula E Championship will take place at 1600hrs on Saturday 2 April 2016. NEXTEV TCR’s Nelson Piquet Jr scored his first Formula E race win at the iconic American circuit last season, while Oliver Turvey will be making his debut on the street track.

Nelson Piquet Jr: “Last year was very special at Long Beach with mine and the team’s first Formula E win. Long Beach is a race and track that I really like. It’s an iconic circuit and, having lived in America for six years, I love the country so it feels like a home track. Our reality this season is that we won’t be fighting at the front unfortunately, so we will go and do the best that we can. If we can finish in the points it would be good for us.”

Oliver Turvey: “I’m really looking forward to Long Beach. The track there looks a bit faster, which should suit our car a bit better. It’s another historic motorsport venue and a street circuit that I’ve always wanted to race at. I haven’t raced much in America so I’m really looking forward to getting there. I’ve got some friends close by so it will be good to have some local support too.”

Martin Leach, President, NEXTEV: “Long Beach holds special memories for NEXTEV, as it was our team’s first race victory. The reality this season is that we are fighting for points rather than the win, but we will be doing all we can to secure the best possible result. Our improved practice pace at the last race in Mexico was encouraging, particularly on a track that we knew wouldn’t suit us very well. Long Beach should suit us much better and so we are looking forward to a positive weekend.”
