The Punta del Este ePrix will take place on Saturday 19 December 2015. Known as the ‘St Tropez of South America’, Punta del Este is famous for its sandy beaches, luxury yachts and glamorous visitors. Punta del Este is located on the south coast of Uruguay, 130km east of the capital; Montevideo. The race will begin at 16.00hrs local time.

Nelson Piquet Jr: “I have great memories from the race at Punta del Este last year as it was where I scored my first podium so I’m looking forward to getting back there. It’s a fantastic city and location for Formula E. Punta del Este will be another challenging race for us, but in the first two races we’ve shown once again that we’re the best team at energy management, which has helped us do a clever strategy and score points. We will work on a similar strategy in Punta del Este and look to secure more points.”

Oliver Turvey: “I am really looking forward to the third round of Formula E in Punta del Este; I know the team have been working hard after the first two rounds to build on the strong first race we had in Beijing. It will be my first visit to South America and to Punta del Este, so I can’t wait to get out there and see the track.”

Steven Lu, Team Principal, NEXTEV TCR: “We have already seen progress from Beijing to Malaysia, and I believe we will see further progress at Punta del Este as we continue into the season. The whole team is working hard to make improvements to the car and continue to be strong at energy management so that we can maximise our results at every race.”

Martin Leach, President, NEXTEV: “We’ve had a challenging start to the season, but we have also secured some solid points finishes in the first two rounds and will be looking to continue to build on these results in Punta del Este. On-going developments to the car, combined with clever race strategies will be key to finishing regularly in the points.”
