Donington, United Kingdom – After five months off-season, the Techeetah Formula-E team is eager to take on the first two races of Season Four. Racing along the iconic Victoria Harbourfront, the Hong Kong E-Prix takes place on 2-3 December 2017. It is the first ever Asian double-header in the history of the all-electric street racing championship.

Finishing their debut FIA Formula E season on a high, notching up seven podiums and a memorable first win in the final race of the season, the Techeetah Formula-E team is now looking to repeat its success in Season Four.

With its talented engineering team and one of the best driver line-ups in the paddock, the team is confident of another great season ahead.

Mark Preston, Team Principal

As the team embarks on its second season in Formula E, how do you reflect on the team’s first season in the all-electric championship?

“Season Three was our very first Formula E season and it has been an incredible journey so far. For a new team to score seven podiums and a race win in their first season is nothing but impressive. We exceeded our own expectations for our debut campaign and this is completely down to the all the hard work of the team.”

What are your expectations for this season?

“We have one of the best powertrains in the paddock and the goal is to optimise it as quickly as possible, so that we can be as competitive as we were last year. We learnt a lot in our first year of Formula E and we are looking forward to applying all those learnings this season.

“It was obvious from the official team testing in Valencia that all teams have taken a big step forward. As a private team, this simply means that we have to be even more efficient to be on par with the other manufacturer backed teams and to fight at the top. We can’t wait to see where we are at in Hong Kong and to get racing now.”

André Lotterer #18

This won’t be your first time in a formula series, but your first time in Formula E. What are your thoughts on the championship so far?

“The championship has grown from strength to strength over the last three years, and it’s really exciting to be part of it now. If you compare Formula E’s development with how long it’s taken other established motorsport categories to have the same impact, they’ve done an impressive job. It feels great to be part of a fast-evolving series that is already making waves, not only in the motorsport community, but also in the automotive world.”

What are your goals for your rookie season?

“As a driver, you always aim for the top, even as a rookie. Otherwise you wouldn’t be a racer. So that is what I will be aiming for. I think we need to complete the double-header races in Hong Kong to see where we are compared to the teams around us. As although the testing showed us some things, it wasn’t necessarily a representative track for the street racing we do throughout the season.

“There will be a steep learning curve right from the beginning, but I’ve got a really good team behind me and we have done non-stop prep to be as ready as possible for the Hong Kong E-Prix, where we will give it all we’ve got.”

Jean-Éric Vergne #25

You’ve been involved in the championship since the first season, what do you think will be different this year?

“We will probably see the most competitive season of the championship so far. There are a lot of drivers who have been in Formula E from season one and the other teams have had two seasons to optimise their packages for Season Four. It will be hugely exciting – that’s for sure.”

You finished 5th in both team and driver standings last season, what are your expectations for this season?

“I’m a fierce competitor and can’t wait to be up there fighting at the top. We have done a lot of work in the off-season and there is no reason why we shouldn’t be as competitive as last year. We’ve got a great team of engineers and technical support behind us and it’s great to have André on board as well to further strengthen our chances of scoring the top marks on both sides of the garage. He’s a really great guy and will push me hard, I’m sure. I’m looking forward to racing with him this season.”
