Volkswagen driver Edoardo Mortara is first championship leader of 2010 season
The Formula 3 Euro Series season opener started extremely successfully for Volkswagen with a victory and three other podium positions. The biggest winner at Le Castellet (F) was Edoardo Mortara. The Italian championship-returnee won the first race and drove from eighth on the grid to second in race two and is therefore the first to lead the standings in 2010. His German team mate at Signature, Marco Wittmann celebrated second and third positions. With Adrian Quaife-Hobbs (GB) and Antonio Felix da Costa (P) two other drivers for the second Volkswagen teams, Motopark Academy, also collected points in France.
ATS Formula 3 Cup
Volkswagen drivers dominate season opener
Volkswagen claimed the top four positions in both races at the ATS Formula 3 Cup season opener at Oschersleben - an outstanding result. In Saturday's race the Danish championship newcomer Kevin Magnussen fought from fourth to take victory. The German Daniel Abt, also competing for the first time in the Formula 3 Cup, finished second ahead of Tom Dillmann (F) and Stef Dusseldorp (NL). On Sunday Tom Dillmann won, but subsequently received a 30 second penalty, which pushed him down to seventh. Stef Dusseldorp inherited the win. Kevin Magnussen, Daniel Abt and Jimmy Eriksson (S) followed.
ADAC Formula Masters

The first race in the "star of tomorrow" series, which uses standard Volkswagen engines, was won by the German Patrick Schranner ahead of Stanaway and Pascal Wehrlein (D). In the second race "Kiwi" Stanaway showed the competition a clean pair of heals and won by 15 seconds ahead of William Vermont (F) and the Austrian Gerhard Tweraser.
