Comtec Racing (Team United Kingdom) dominated the time sheets at Monza, Italy during their first, two day test for the Formula Renault Eurocup.

The Norfolk based team; lead by team Race Director, Jonathan Lewis recruited two British drivers, Westley Barber and Pippa Mann, in their quest to clinch both the Eurocup title and the French Formula Renault Championship.

Experienced driver Westley Barber set the initial pace during the morning session on the first day; maintaining his dominance throughout putting in his best lap overall of 150.293, his closest rival being Japanese driver Kamui Kobayashi putting in his best lap of 150.425.

Barber said "I'm Ecstatic! It's fantastic for the team to have come here on our first Eurocup test and end up quickest; it's a credit to them"

Pippa Mann, one of the very few British women in competitive motorsport ended the test session 19th out of 32 against some of the world's best young drivers with her best time of 151.836. Mann said "I'm really happy to be in the top 20 on my first Eurocup test"

Race Director, Jonathan Lewis said "We suffered from engine problems half way through the first day, it didn't take us long to find the problem and maintain our lead for the rest of the test. I'm absolutely delighted with the team"

They now, look forward to a strong test at Le Mans for the Renault Eurocup Championship and the first race at Nogaro on 27th & 28th March, where Barber has dominated in the past, clinching no less than four, race wins!
