Pietro Fittipaldi takes three wins at Donington - video
Triple win for Pietro Fittipaldi at Protyre Formula Renault rounds 4, 5 and 6.
The second weekend of racing in the Protyre Formula Renault championship saw Pietro Fittipaldi cement his lead, topping the Donington podium in all three races and extending his championship lead with 25 points.
After starting in second position, Pietro took the lead and went on to win round 4 ahead of Scorpio Racing’s Piers Hickin.
In the clear skies of Sunday, race five got under way with Fortec Motorsport’s Alex Gill led from poll position but was overtaken at the first corner by Pietro, who kept the lead and went on to claim his second victory of the weekend.
After seeing Pietro dominate in rounds four and five, Noble Jnr and Hickin were keen to pile on the pressure in round six. Noble Jnr took an early lead and kept it until lap four when Pietro made is move. Noble continued to push his rival until the end, but it wasn’t enough and Pietro stormed home for the hat trick.
“The win on day one was a great way to start and taking first place in rounds five and six is exactly what I wanted… what more could I ask for? Everything worked well and I am looking forward to the next one”
Pietro Fittipaldi
